Daily prayer grounds us in a faith of knowing that God is with us at every moment - even when the struggles come.  We can always, and should always, go directly to God with our prayers, hopes, needs, and dreams.  When the crisis comes, sometimes we struggle to pray...and when that happens, we look to others for help.

Asking for the intercession of a patron saint is like asking a very special friend for prayers.

Adoration Chapel

We have a fantastic place to go and spend peaceful moments with our Lord...the St. Elizabeth Seton Adoration Chapel.  It is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.  When the crisis of mental health issues comes, it is a chance to just sit and let Jesus know what specifically is on your mind.

Catechism of the Catholic Church (CCC)

2634    Intercession is a prayer of petition which leads us to pray as Jesus did. He is the one intercessor with the Father on behalf of all men, especially sinners.
112 He is “able for all time to save those who draw near to God through him, since he always lives to make intercession for them.”113 The Holy Spirit “himself intercedes for us... and intercedes for the saints according to the will of God.”114 (432)

St. Dymphna

In the case of mental health, St. Dymphna is our special friend.

The prayer below is the novena for the intercession of St. Dymphna  (
https://natlshrinestdymphna.org/site/ )

Good Saint Dymphna, great wonder-worker in every affliction of mind and body, I humbly implore your powerful intercession with Jesus through Mary, the Health of the Sick, in my present need. (Mention it.) Saint Dymphna, martyr of purity, patroness of those who suffer with nervous and mental afflictions, beloved child of Jesus and Mary, pray to Them for me and obtain my request.

(Pray one Our Father, one Hail Mary and one Glory Be.)

Saint Dymphna, Virgin and Martyr, pray for us.

Now, a novena is not a special incantation.

It is a means by which we build our faith with a focus on a particular element of our lives, and ask a patron saint friend to help us pray.

It means we continue to do all the things that improve our health...therapy, and doctor visits, and such...but we do them with an increasing faith that God will always take care of us.

St. Therese the Little Flower

St. Therese struggled for years with emotional issues.  It was through prayer and a miraculous vision of our Holy Mother that she began to understand the peace found in understanding how much God loves us and the very simple things He asks of us...trust Him as a little child trusts a parent.

Go here and make your prayer request...and then spend time praying for others:
